What is SEO?

We offer a number of SEO services at Studio Culture. Search Engine Optimisation, or SEO, is the process of strengthening a website’s online presence and discoverability within a search engine. Implementing SEO practices into your website or page will increase its visibility in unpaid results, referred to as “natural” or “organic” listings. An increase in visibility will then naturally guide traffic toward your website, generating leads and ultimately converting to sales.

SEO is an internet marketing strategy: put simply, anything people or technology does to influence ranking elements can be called SEO. Good SEO is maintaining an active social media presence, creating landing pages and call-to-actions, advertising online and offline, using related keywords in online content, running an active website blog and, essentially, anything that will promote engagement with your website.

What are Organic & Non-Organic Search Results?

Organic search results are listings provided by search engines aiming to to rank content relevant to what the user has searched for. They are closely linked to keyword phrases, and are not paid for. Non-Organic, or “pay-per-click” advertising, is  costly but effective process of engaging with consumers and driving traffic toward your page. Advertisers will typically bid on keyword phrases relevant to their target market, and other sites will charge a fixed price per click rather than use a bidding system.

Why is SEO Important?

Google has millions of pages to contend with; it not only acknowledges but demands good content from a website before it’s even considered a ranking. Implementing good SEO strategies will ultimately be the reason traffic is driven toward your page. This traffic, whether it’s through organic or paid-for clicks, will be the reason your business appears on page one of Google. Google has incredibly high standards and simply wishes for you to be active members of the online community: running an active website with a high-quality blog, social media accounts and “clickable” keyword phrases all contribute to good SEO.

The fact that SEO practices are always changing is testament to how important they are: Google update their algorithms up to 500 times a year. It’s vital to have an SEO expert on your team to keep up with this fast-paced industry.
