Web Design Term: Responsive Design

The purpose of having a responsive design is to allow the layout, content and web design of a site to be able to adapt with fluidity to the many screen sizes in which it can appear on such as desktop computers, laptops, mobile phones and tablets. In other words, having a responsive design accommodates for all sizes which will allow ‘one size to almost fit all’. Desktop and mobile screens are constantly changing and is crucial to maximise experience when users are constantly hopping between diverse screen sizes and browser characteristics.
