Web Design Term – Client/Server Side

A ‘side’ refers to the scripts that run on a website, and who has to run them. Client-side scripts are the scripts that run in a user’s browser. They can take a short while to load, but tend to run fast. Server-side is in reference to scripts that run on a web server. They take longer to run than client-side scripts as it must reload the page every time an action is taken.
