Link building is important to SEO. As a general rule, the more quality websites that link to your site, the higher your ranking potential.

What is a link?

A link is a word or object people click on to go to another website, or another page in a website. For example, if you click on this link: website design, you will be directed to Studio Culture’s Website Design service page. In this case, “website design” is the link, or anchor text.

What is a backlink?

A link from an external website that leads to your website is called a backlink. As mentioned above, the more links you obtain from external websites (backlinks), the higher the opportunity is for your website to be discovered on search engines for certain keywords. But not every backlink can be a good one: only quality backlinks, or backlinks coming from pages with a high Domain Authority, can be helpful to your SEO.
